YOUNG ADULT AUTHOR
I grew up in Kensington, Maryland––a small town just outside Washington DC––and spent most of my time filling up journals and reading. In seventh grade, I was deeply inspired by SE Hinton’s The Outsiders (I read it fourteen times because I didn’t want it to end!), and I just knew I had to write books. In 2009, I started blogging about life and my struggles with depression. In 2013, I published my first fiction novel, The City Center, which won a gold medal in dystopian fiction. I’ve been writing novels for young adults ever since. I have zero shame about staying up all night finishing a really good book or binge-watching Netflix.
